Stratford Spring Program - Noah's Kindergarten

Noah's class performed their Disney theme Spring program. They sang, danced and had a lot of fun. The kids all did really well. Having just returned from Disney World, Noah was especially in the right frame of mind.

Stratford Spring Picnic

Stratford school had their Spring picnic, complete with jump house, inflatable slide, sno-cones, face painting and a dunk booth. The kids enjoyed the activities and playing with their school friends.

Noah was eager to try his hand at dunking their gym teacher. He stepped up, aimed at the target and took his three throws. Third time was the charm, and he sent Mr. L into the tank. We were all very proud of him, and he was really pleased with himself.

Tahoe Snow Visit

Well, I always say that when I moved to California I was happy to leave the snow behind in Pennsylvania. I'd rather visit the snow than to have it visit me. So, in order to give our CalKids a chance to see what this whole "snow thing" is all about, we rented a 4-wheel drive SUV and headed for Tahoe. We had the perfect timing, as our trip coincided with a fresh snow storm, but they had cleared the roads in time for the drive up. Other than escaping the Bay Area rush-hours traffic, we had an easy ride and good roads.

When we woke up Saturday morning, the kids we very eager to play in the snow. There wasn't too much clean snow near the hotel, but we made our way to a local resort (Soda Springs) that caters to kids and families. They quickly tested the physics of snow (yup, it's cold. yeah, it packs. oh yeah, you can throw it!), and we headed over to the play area. They both got to try out skis and I gave a mini lesson to both of them. Eva was more interested than Noah, but we practiced until lunchtime (about 15 minutes).

After lunch, the kids had a blast climbing up a giant snow mound, and sliding down on their backs. Noah liked getting buried up to his hips in the drifts. Luckily, we didn't lose any boots, and the ski pants kept everybody warm and dry.

It was a quick trip, but we all had a lot of fun. Eva keeps hoping it will snow at home soon. She has a long wait. I expect.

Noah and Eva were playing out back, which gave me a chance to try out my new camera. They posed for a number of pictures, and were having a lot of fun. Awwwww, so cute.

We had a lot of fun today with a new puppet theater made out of cardboard. We had a Sesame theme to the show, as you can see. Noah says,
"It was a really good puppet show, and everyone who was watching had a really good time."

One of Noah's classmates, Zoe, had a birthday party with a professional puppet show. The performance was Rumpelstiltskin, and it was very enjoyable. The kids were quite engrossed and participated very well. We had a very nice time at the party. More pictures from the party/show are posted on picasaweb.
